Beautiful to see, soft to touch and, above all, precious allies to decorate the living room: design carpets are turning into a more and more valued furnishing object in interior design projects.

What does urban style mean? This sounds a banal question but it is not. Because when we speak about urban style in interior design we refer to a very special world, made of combinations of markedly contemporary elements and vintage ones.

There are the floor lamp of smoked glass, the round mirror frame, the country wall clock; there are the cushions of coloured cotton and the diffusers of decorated ceramic to furnish with the senses. And then photo frames of design and sweet, very elegant music boxes.

What is the real magic of Christmas? The light of candles, a bunch of red berries, ornaments made of golden or silver wires; and then pine branches, wreaths, coloured lights, sparkling garlands.

There are accessories which have special powers in the world of interior design. We could say they are the superheroes of interior decoration, the ones which can really make a difference.

We spend our relaxing moments in the living room, the moments we want to dedicate to ourselves after a hard day at work.

The atmosphere is retro, the rhythm slowly flows in a space which vibrates between the present and a romantic, bucolic past. All this (and much more) exists in what we nowadays call modern country style.

What is a perfume? ...a force of persuasion more convincing than words, appearance, feeling and will. [...] It penetrates us same as the air we breathe penetrates our lungs, it fills us, it totally dominates us, there is no way to oppose it.

Madame de Pompadour was crazy for it. The director Wes Andersonl chose it as the protagonist of his eccentric sets. In The painter of modern life, Baudelaire writes it can reveal an “idea of ecstasy in frivolity. In short, nobody resists the charm of pink colour.

Warmth and formal cleanness: if we had to find the first bricks through which to build a house in modern country style, these would be the elements to start with.

There was the Art Nouveau period. There was the time of ultra-modern interior design; then, of hi-tech trends. At present, the desire to regain possession of a more intimate and natural dimension of everyday life is more and more meaning “going back to one’s origins”, it is increasingly becoming a new form of design that is not only servicing mass industry, rather it is directed towards a craftsmanship that we could define as 2.0.

The new socio-cultural trends and the world of interior design are always strictly connected: the first nurture the latter and they are both enriched by this process.

The blue of the waves that lulls the thoughts, the yellow of the grains of sand that caress the skin, the warm white of the sunlight which gives a sense of deep stillness: nothing beats the charm of the sea.

Studio apartment, open space, house with a long corridor or without the entrance hall: the entryway is a fundamental element in a house, regardless of its typology or surface area.
